Harm in Ammonia level increased in River Yamuna?

Currently the level of ammonia (NH3) in the Wazirabad pond of yamuna river in delhi has exceeded 5.0 ppm, due to the increased amount of ammonia, the production of water in the Wazirabad water purification plant has been affected by 25-50 percent. Due to this, water supply in many areas of the capital will be at low pressure for the next few days. This problem may persist until the ammonia level becomes normal. The area of North and Central delhi will be affected due to the increase in the amount of ammonia in Yamuna. At the same time, its effect can be seen in the areas of majnu Ka Tila, ISBT, GPO, NDMC area, ITO, Hans Bhavan, LNJP Hospital, Defense Colony, CGO Complex, and Rajghat.

Meanwhile there may also be a problem of water in the areas of South and Outer Delhi. This includes Greater Kailash, Model Town, Jahangirpuri, Burari and its surrounding areas, South delhi and Cantonment area. Along with this, there may be water problem in the areas of WHO, IP Emergency, Ramlila Ground, delhi Gate, Gulabi Bagh, Shalimar Bagh, Azadpur, Wazirpur, lawrence Road, punjab Bagh, Timarpur, SFS flats.

Moreover amidst the problem of ammonia in Yamuna, delhi Jal Board has advised to use water carefully at this time. Avoid wastage of water until the situation becomes normal. delhi Jal Board said, water supply will be normalized again as soon as the situation improves.
