India tightens surveillance on Chinese goods..!?
In response to the tariffs imposed by the US on major trading partners, the central government is tightening surveillance on imports of Chinese goods. Consultative meetings are being held under the chairmanship of the Commerce Secretary to formulate a strategy in this regard. Recently, US President trump signed an order imposing new reciprocal tariffs. It imposed additional tariffs of 10 to 50 percent on goods imported into the US from several countries. china has been hit hard by the high tariff of 34 percent. This, combined with the existing 20 percent on Chinese imports to the US, brings the total tariff to 54 percent. There are concerns that the US tariffs could lead to china diverting its exports to other countries, particularly in India.
