BSP Removes Late TN party Chief Armstrong’s Wife As State Coordinator
Porkodi Armstrong was appointed as the state coordinator following the murder of her husband, K Armstrong, in July 2024.
The Bahujan Samaj party (BSP) has removed Porkodi, wife of the late tamil Nadu BSP chief K Armstrong, from her position as the state coordinator. The decision follows alleged internal disagreements between Porkodi and current state president P Anandan.

According to a report i, the development came after a crucial executive committee meeting held by the party last week. During the meeting, Porkodi reportedly raised allegations against Anandan, accusing him of working against her within the party ranks. In a show of strength, over 500 BSP members data-aligned with Porkodi reportedly gathered to voice their concerns directly with the party's senior leadership.Against this backdrop, the BSP leadership released a statement confirming that Porkodi would no longer hold any post within the party. The statement added that she would henceforth focus on her personal life and family responsibilities by taking care of her children. Volunteers and party workers were directed to operate under the leadership of P Anandan going forward, as per reports.
Porkodi was appointed as the state coordinator following the murder of her husband, K Armstrong, in July 2024. Armstrong, a prominent Dalit leader and a senior figure in the BSP, was brutally attacked near his under-construction residence by a gang posing as food delivery personnel. The incident shocked the state and prompted widespread condemnation.
While Porkodi was appointedas state coordinator, Anandan, a supreme court advocate, took over as the tamil Nadu BSP president in the place of Armstrong.
After her appointment, Porkodi requested to be officially referred to as "Mrs. Armstrong" in party communications as a tribute to her late husband.
