On the instructions of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, as part of the ongoing campaign against illegal madrasas across the state, the district administration took major action in Banbhulpura area of Haldwani on Sunday. Administrative teams have started sealing the madrasas running illegally without registration. During the action, a large number of police forces have been deployed on the spot, so that any kind of unpleasant situation can be dealt with

This action of the district administration started suddenly, which created a stir in the area. Joint teams were formed with the city magistrate, police officer and representatives of the education department to close the illegal madrasas. These teams visited the area and identified the madrasas which were operating for years without any statutory permission. The administration says that not only will these institutions running illegally in the name of education be investigated, but they will also be closed and legal action will be taken.

Under this campaign being run under the leadership of Additional district Magistrate vivek Kumar Roy, many madrasas have been sealed so far. The administration has also made it clear that strict action will be taken against the institutions which do not have valid documents. Along with this, the children studying in these madrasas will be accommodated under the alternative education system, so that their studies are not disrupted.

This campaign is not against any religion or community - Administration

Mixed reactions are being seen among the local people regarding this action of the administration. Some people have called it a necessary step, while some have described it as targeting a particular community. However, the administration says that this campaign is not against any religion or community, but is being run to maintain law and order and quality of education.
