Shivakumar Backs Party Leadership!!
Karnataka congress cm Post Row: Key Developments and Statements
High Command to Take Final Call
Karnataka Deputy chief minister and State congress President DK Shivakumar has clearly stated that
the final decision on the Chief Minister’s post will be taken by the congress High Command.
He emphadata-sized that neither he nor chief minister Siddaramaiah will take any unilateral step regarding leadership change.
Joint Visit to Delhi
Shivakumar said that both he and Siddaramaiah will be called to delhi together when the High Command decides the timing.
No Secret Moves
Addressing the media, Shivakumar asserted that he will not go to delhi or hold discussions secretly.
He said all developments will be communicated openly and transparently to the media and the public.
Response to Siddaramaiah’s Claim
Shivakumar’s remarks come a day after chief minister Siddaramaiah stated in the assembly that he would complete his full term.
Siddaramaiah also claimed that the congress High Command supports him and that no official decision on a two-and-a-half-year tenure was taken in 2023.
Mutual Agreement Between Leaders
On this issue, Shivakumar said that whatever understanding exists between him and Siddaramaiah was reached with mutual consent and in the presence of the High Command.
He added that both leaders are committed to honoring that agreement.
Speculation Over Power-Sharing Formula
Speculation about a leadership change has intensified as the congress government completes half of its five-year term on november 20.
Reports suggest a power-sharing formula was discussed in 2023, under which Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar would serve as chief minister for two-and-a-half years each, though this was never officially confirmed.
Political Buzz Around Symbolic Events
Recent visits by naga sadhus to Shivakumar’s residence, where they reportedly blessed him, have further fueled political discussions and speculation.
Upcoming delhi Visit Clarified
Shivakumar confirmed he will travel to delhi on Tuesday, but stressed that the visit is not related to the cm post dispute.
He said the Union Ministry of Water Resources has summoned him for discussions on river interlinking.
Agenda in Delhi
Issues to be discussed include the Mahadayi and krishna water disputes, Mekedatu project, and Upper Bhadra project.
Shivakumar also plans to meet Union ministers for Water Resources, Environment and Forests, Urban Development, and may meet the prime minister if required.
