In the Union Budget 2026–27, Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a major new initiative to support India’s creative and wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">digital industries by establishing Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) Content Creator Labs in 15,000 schools and 500 colleges across India. The labs are being set up with the support of the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT), Mumbai, backed by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. A total of ₹250 crore has been allocated under a new central sector scheme for talent development in the AVGC sector.
