Congress leader and leader of the Opposition rahul gandhi has commented on the controversy surrounding former army Chief General (Retired) MM Naravane’s yet-unpublished book Four Stars of Destiny.

- Speaking to reporters outside parliament, rahul gandhi said the situation leaves only two possibilities — either General Naravane is telling the truth or the publisher Penguin Random house India is.

- gandhi stated clearly that he trusts the former army Chief’s version over the publisher’s claim.

- He referred to a 2023 tweet by General Naravane in which the retired army Chief promoted his book and shared a purchase link, saying it was available on Amazon.

- gandhi argued that such a public promotion supports Naravane’s claim that the book exists in circulation.

- He suggested that the book may contain remarks that are uncomfortable for the central government and the Prime Minister, which could be contributing to the controversy.

Publisher’s Stand

- Penguin Random house India has officially denied publishing the book in any format.

- The publisher said the book has not been released in print or wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">digital form.

- It also warned that any copies currently circulating are unauthorized and illegal.

- Penguin announced potential legal action against individuals or platforms distributing the alleged copies.

Police Action

- delhi Police have registered a case regarding the reported circulation of an unauthorized PDF version of the book online.

- Investigators say a PDF resembling a publisher-formatted copy has appeared on certain websites and social media platforms.

- The book cover and sales listings were also reportedly seen on some online marketplaces.

Parliament Uproar

- The issue escalated during the post-budget parliament session last week.

- rahul gandhi cited a magazine article based on the unpublished book during a brief speech.

- His remarks triggered a major uproar and political confrontation in Parliament.
