🎓 UP Government Scholarship: Yogi Gov’s Gift to ~38 Lakh Students

The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a significant increase in scholarship support for students ahead of the Holi festival, benefiting approximately 38 lakh (3.8 million) students across the state. This move is being widely appreciated as a major educational support initiative.

📌 What’s the Scholarship Hike About?

🔹 The scholarship amount for students in classes 9 and 10 from backward classes (OBC) has been increased — from ₹2,250 to ₹3,000 per year (i.e., an increase of ₹750).

✔ Around 38 lakh students in Uttar Pradesh are expected to benefit directly from the increase.

To widen access, the government has also raised the annual family income limit for eligibility from ₹2 lakh to ₹2.5 lakh. This means more families can now qualify for support than before.
