The
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM‑Kisan) Yojana continues to be one of India’s largest direct income support schemes for farmers. Under this programme, eligible farmer families receive
₹6,000 annually in
three instalments of ₹2,000 each via
Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into their bank accounts. The next (22nd) instalment is expected to be credited around
13 March 2026.However,
not all registered farmers will automatically receive the benefit. The government has updated eligibility rules, meaning
only genuinely eligible farmers will get the payment this year.
🌾 Who Will Receive the PM Kisan Installment in 2026?✅ Eligible Small and Marginal FarmersOnly farmers who meet all eligibility criteria and complete required formalities will receive the upcoming PM‑Kisan instalment:
- Completed e‑KYC: Your PM Kisan account must have e‑KYC verification completed on the official portal.
- Farmer ID: A unique Farmer ID must be generated and linked for the 2026 instalments. Without it, payments may be withheld.
- Aadhaar‑Bank Link: Your Aadhaar number must be linked to your bank account for DBT transfers.
- Land Records Verification: Your land details and records must be correctly updated and verified in the system.
Farmers who fulfil these conditions and remain on the
beneficiary list will receive the ₹2,000 instalment this cycle.
🧾 New Rule in 2026 – Land Ownership Must Be in Your NameUnder recent rule updates,

- Farmers must have land registered in their own name (not only in ancestors’ names).
- The land revenue receipt (lagaan/rasid) should also be issued in the farmer’s name.
If a farmer is cultivating land under their father’s, grandfather’s or any other relative’s name without updated legal documentation, they
may be excluded from receiving the benefits after March 2026.
