Chennai: The Chief Electoral Officer of tamil Nadu, archana Patnaik, announced that
2,106 flying squads have been formed across the state to ensure strict monitoring and smooth conduct of the upcoming elections. She shared these details during a press briefing held in Chennai.
Large-Scale Monitoring ArrangementsAccording to the Chief Electoral Officer, the flying squads have been deployed in various districts of tamil Nadu as part of the election Commission’s measures to
prevent electoral malpractices. These squads will work round the clock to monitor suspicious activities such as the distribution of money, gifts, liquor, or other inducements to voters.Each flying squad typically consists of
revenue officials, police personnel, and videographers, enabling them to conduct immediate inspections and record evidence if violations are detected.
Nomination Filing TimingsOfficials also clarified that
candidates can file their nomination papers from 11:00 AM onwards during the designated nomination period. Proper arrangements have been made at nomination centers to ensure transparency and orderly submission of documents.Authorities emphadata-sized that candidates must follow the
guidelines and procedures issued by the election Commission while submitting their nominations.
Strengthening election SurveillanceThe deployment of flying squads is part of a broader surveillance system that includes
