The flooding in Chennai has caused lots of problems. The torrential rains influenced the floods to more level and right now things got back to normal. Experts said that this should be an eye opener for city planners. Experts said Chennai is a major source of outsourcing and it a destination for foreign investments.

They also said this situation could affect National economy. Nambi Appadurai who is India's adaptation strategy head for World Resources Institute (WRI) said, "Chennai has finally data-faced more than 15 days of rain and this is the kind of weather which we should be warned of.

People often take things for granted. Now this is a big warning. Having been in the adaptation business for about 10 years now, I find these events reinforce the challenges we data-face in adapting to a changing climate.

Everyone of us should learn from this experience. The erratic downpour and overflowing lakes is always a common trait. We have to be ready with preliminary measures. The climate always is extreme, we just have to stay with eyes open."
