Rangareddy PRO booked under Nirbhaya Act for sexual harassment
Heinous crimes against women are increasing each day. Just when 'Call Money scam' has subsided and crime rates has fallen, once again sexual harassment cases started to take a rise.
Saifabad Police has now booked a case against a public relations officer (PRO) of Ranga Reddy district as he sexually harassed a fellow woman officer. Case was registered immediately under Nirbhaya act. PC Venkatesham who is the PRO of Ranga Reddy district has been posted at RDO office in Rajendranagar.
Yesterday a woman officer who works at Sub-collector's office in Vikarabad lodged a complaint against Venkatesham stating that he keeps on harassing her in a sexual manner. A complaint was registered and Saifabad inspector K.Poorna Chander said,
"We have taken the complaint of the victim and we resitered a caseunder section 354 (assault or use of criminal force to outrage the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). We have started the inquiry and we will submit the report to the court."
