Sagarmala Boost Begins for Andhra Pradesh
The Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) is reportedly sending a delegation to East Godavari district for scouting a suitable place to establish a training and infrastructure facility for dredging. The delegation would be headed by DCI chairman and MD Rajesh Tripathi.
They will be visiting
the picturesque Antarvedi village in East Godavari on October 3rd. Technical
teams of DCI will be accompanying the chairman.They will be reportedly
interacting with the officials of panchayat raj, revenue, electricity as well
as roads and buildings departments for inspections and necessary reports.
Senior DCI officials would also be giving a PowerPoint presentation to the state government regarding this proposed dredge training infrastructure facility , coming up with an investment of Rs 1,800 crore. This would be a big boost to the internal waterways for both AP and Tamil Nadu on the east coast.

This was proposed at Mumbai but sources say that AP chief minister Chandrababu Naidu convinced the PSU to set up in AP. This is expected to mark the beginning of much touted Sagarmala project for Andhra Pradesh.
