The Uttar Pradesh government, inspired by the success of noida, has decided to establish a new city near Agra, approximately 190 km away from Noida. This decision is driven by the impending inauguration of the noida international airport, expected to contribute to the area's economic development and accommodate the growing population. Spanning around 10,500 hectares, the new city's data-size will be approximately half that of Noida.

The yamuna Expressway Authority has invited consultant proposals to create a 10-year masterplan for the city, encompassing aspects like transport connectivity, environmental considerations, and overall urban development. The need for this new city arose in anticipation of the noida international airport, situated about 150 km away, becoming operational by the end of the year.

The government envisions increased development in the surrounding areas due to the airport, attracting both domestic and international travelers. The proximity of the airport to Agra, home to the world-renowned Taj Mahal, is expected to boost tourism in the region. The new city will be situated in the vicinity of the yamuna Expressway, covering areas like noida, Bulandshahr, Mathura, Aligarh, and Agra, contributing to the economic growth and investment climate of the region.
