Everyone has their own perception about the concept of Heaven and Hell based on the religion. In Hinduism, we call it Moksha and in Christianity we call it Judgement Day. In Islam, Hell is a real place prepared by God for those who do not believe in Him and those who reject his messengers.
As per Islam, Hell is a place to purify souls which is used by Allah Almighty to punish for those who made sins. Allah will cleanse the souls from the Satan's dirt. The temptations and evil intentions will also be removed and they shall enter the paradise with a pure heart.
According to Islam, Hell is not just some spiritual entity. They are the same thing but slightly different in their earthly counterparts. Holy Quran states, "Know they not that whoever opposes God and His Messenger (Muhammad), certainly for him will be the Fire of Hell to abide therein? That is the extreme disgrace. (Quran 9:63)"
The fire in Hell is also given various names, 'Jaheem' means Fire, 'Ladthaa' means blazing fire, Sa'eer means Blazing flame and so on. But finally everything comes down to the line, Do Good, you reach heaven and Do Bad, the gates of Hell are opened for you.
