Celebrate Mahashivaratri at Isha Yoga, Coimbatore
Mahashivratri is one of the largest and most significant among the sacred festival nights of India. This is the darkest night of the year celebrates the Grace of Shiva, who is considered the Adi Guru or the First Guru, from whom the yogic tradition originates. The planetary positions on this night are such that there is a powerful natural upsurge of energy in the human system. It is enormously beneficial for one’s physical and spiritual well-being to stay awake and aware in a vertical position throughout the night.
The main pull for a lot of people to this Mahashivratri event is the music, dance and entertaining program that take place all night long and for a lot of people this not a night of just sitting upright but of dancing all through it. It can be a very enjoyable night. No wonder it made it to my top favorite quite easily.
This dance and music program is interspersed with discourses by Sadhguru and a midnight meditation session Aum Namah Shivaya chanting. This year (2018) he also had another meditative practice session after midnight around 1 or 2 AM.
