The Archaeological Department of india (ASI) protested by filing an affidavit in the Saket court on the interim application related to the restoration of temples in the Qutub Minar complex. ASI said, Qutub Minar is not a place of worship, the current situation cannot be changed.


Recognizing that several sculptures exist within the Qutub Minar complex, the ASI stated that since 1914, Qutub Minar is a protected monument under Section 3(3) of the Ancient Monuments Protection Act, 1904, and has been retained as such. Will go.

The ASI further said, "The Fundamental Right cannot be availed of in case of violation of any condition of the land. No new practice can be allowed to start in a monument protected under the AMSAR Act. Wherever worship is not performed, it is not allowed to start worship."


Shankar Jain, on behalf of Vikas Jain, filed a petition in the Saket court alleging that the Quwwat-ul-Islam mosque located within the Qutub Minar complex in Mehrauli was built on the site of a temple complex. It has demanded that the 27 temples that were allegedly demolished should be renovated.
