Sindoor Khela

Many traditions are performed during the farewell of Durga, in every state, there is a tradition of celebrating the festival of durga puja in a different and special way. Much enthusiasm for this festival is seen in West Bengal. In durga puja, 'Sindoor Khela' of bengali society is considered a unique festival in itself, which is celebrated at the time of the farewell of Durga. In this ritual, along with Mother Durga, women celebrate happiness by applying vermilion to each other. Wishing each other a long life. In this ritual, which takes place on the day of immersion, women touch the cheeks of the mother Durga with betel leaves, after which they fill vermilion in the demand of Goddess Durga and apply vermilion on the forehead.


Goddess Boron's ritual is performed

At the time of the farewell of Maa Durga, the ritual of Goddess Boron is performed, where married women stand in a queue to say their final goodbyes to the Goddess and the Boron plate consists of betel leaves, nuts, vermilion, incense sticks and sweets. In the end, the mother is given a farewell by wearing red and white bangles.


Organizing special dance Dhunuchi

During Durga Utsav and on the last day a special type of dance is performed which is called Dhunuchi Dance. In this dance, a special type of earthen pot is used to worship the mother by burning dry coconut peels. At the time of Aarti, many tricks are also shown in this Dhunuchi dance.
