Harbhajan Singh worried about Humans Life than postponement of IPL
indian Premier League would have been nearing its business end this season had the coronavirus pandemic not brought the world to a standstill, forcing the postponement of all sporting events indefinitely as a result. Sportspersons from all over the world have been forced to lock themselves down in their homes just like the rest of the world and wait for the spread of the virus to end or be brought under control before they can get back on the field and resume playing.
The Board of Control for cricket in india (BCCI) had first decided to postpone IPL 2020 to april 15 before the start of the first lockdown in india but the board was forced to delay further after the lockdown was extended twice by the government. The cash-rich tournament was originally scheduled to start on march 29. The cricketers though, are in no hurry to come out and start entertaining their fans any time soon. chennai Super Kings off-spinner harbhajan singh for instance, is absolutely fine with the idea of cancelling the IPL altogether this year as cricket is the last thing on his mind right now.
"I do not know what decisions the (Indian) government and bcci take on the future of IPL. Honestly, even if IPL doesn’t happen for the first time in 13 years I think that is fine. The former mumbai indians captain and four-time IPL winner also thinks that foreign players won't be allowed to travel to india even after the lockdown ends as the threat of the virus is expected to be around for quite some time.Travelling from and to will be restricted in many countries in the coming months. I don’t see international players travelling in the near future.
