Team india senior pacer mohammed shami took five wickets in the first innings of the Centurion Test against South Africa, reaching a career-high 200-wicket milestone. However, shami said on this occasion that it was his father who caused him to reach this level. He said that his father worked hard for his career. It is said to be a remote village called Gal Sahaspur in the almora district of Uttar Pradesh. He said that there was no ground in his hometown to practice cricket. With this, their father got emotional that he would take him to the cricket academy every day for 30 kilometers on his bicycle.

He said there were still no proper facilities to play cricket in his village. He remembered that even in such difficult circumstances, his father had put his trust in him and worked hard for him. shami says he will always be indebted to his father for this. He said that his father deserved the praise that was currently being showered on him.

Shami recalls that their father as well as their brother worked hard and encouraged him a lot for his career. In 2017, Mohammad Shami's father died. "Test cricket is not about racketeering," he said. He said he did not understand the pitch conditions and needed to be aware of where the balls were going. shami said that if it is difficult, the results will come on their own.

Shami made his debut in the first Test at the Centurion venue. He bowled 16 overs in the first innings and took 5 wickets for only 44 runs. So he joined the 200 wicket club in his career. He also became the third-fastest pacer to take 200 wickets for Team India. shami took 200 wickets in 55 Tests. Before him, kapil dev took 200 wickets in 50 Tests and Jawaharlal Srinath took 200 wickets in 54 Tests. shami also became the 11th pacer to take 200 wickets in Test cricket. shami took 148 wickets in Wandall and 18 in T20I.
