Does ICC sadden India? india penalized?

The international Cricket Council (ICC) has congratulated Team india on their victory in the Centurion Test. In the first Test against South Africa, all indian players were given a 20 percent cut in match fees due to their slow over-rate. It also imposed a one-point cut in the World Test championship points table. Umpires Marius Erasmus, Adrian Holdstock, Allahuddin Palekar, and Bongani Jile complained to the ICC that Team india bowled too slowly in the first Test. Examining this, the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees Andrew Pycroft concluded that the indian team was bowling very slowly.

With this, Team india bowled less than one over as per Article 16.11 of the ICC Men's World Test championship Playing Conditions. This would be a one-point cut in the account of Team india, currently ranked fourth in the World Test championship with 53 points. The Centurion's victory in the Test match added 12 points to India's tally in the World Test Championship. Also, according to Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct, all Team india players are fined 20 percent for slow over-rate.

The ICC has said that india captain virat kohli has also agreed to the slow over-rate. Therefore, there is no need for an inquiry into this and hence the fine was imposed.Australia currently tops the World Test championship points table. So far, australia has won all its matches and is 100 percent successful. sri lanka is in second place after that. pakistan is in third place with a 75% success rate. TeamIndia is in fourth place with a 63% success rate. The indian team has won four of the seven Test matches they have played so far in the World Test Championship.
