Chris Morris, a South African all-rounder, has declared his retirement from all forms of cricket with immediate effect. Morris also revealed that he had accepted a coaching position with the Titans, a domestic team. "I've decided to withdraw from all kinds of cricket as of today! Thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way, big or small, it's been a fantastic ride! I'm ecstatic to start coaching at @titanscricket #lifebeginsnow "Morris expressed himself on his instagram account.
Morris had played in 69 international games for south africa across all formats and had been playing in t20 competitions all around the world. Morris, who featured for rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2021, has represented south africa in four Tests, 42 ODIs, and 23 T20Is. In July 2019, he last played for south africa in the ICC World cup.
Morris became the most expensive player in the IPL auction after being purchased by rajasthan Royals for INR 16.25 crores in the IPL 2021 auctions. Morris was the sort of all-rounder any side would want in their ranks, a solid striker of the ball down the grid and a frequent wicket-taker. His international career, however, was limited by his fitness difficulties.
