Sports: 190 crores will be spent on athletes!!!
The Union Ministry of youth Affairs and sports has made a big announcement. In the coming financial year, the government is going to spend Rs 190 crore on sports. Most of this amount will be spent on players' training, foreign exposure, equipment, and support staff. It is worth noting that in 2022, two important sports events are going to be held in Commonwealth Games and Asian Games. This entire amount will be allocated to 33 National sports Federations.
Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham
In august this year, the Commonwealth Games will be held in Birmingham, United Kingdom. india enters as a major competitor in the Commonwealth Games. It basically includes Commonwealth nations. The list of Commonwealth countries mostly includes those countries which have been british colonies at one time or the other. The last Commonwealth Games were held four years ago in 2018. In the last season of these games, india had a total of 66 medals of which 26 were gold.
Asian Games
Asian Games will also be held in september immediately after the Commonwealth Games. After performing well in the 2021 Olympics, India's hope is to win more and more medals in these games. Because of this, the sports Ministry is ready to provide all possible facilities to the players. Many items allowances and expenses have been doubled in this budget. This includes the salary of the sports doctor and the training kit allowance given to the players.
