Twist in IPL Broadcasting rights..!?
It has been reported that Star company has acquired the broadcasting rights for the next 5-year IPL series. When it was first revealed that sony had bought the company, the company denied it. The auction for the next 5 years of IPL broadcasting license took place online. It was attended by Disney Star, sony, reliance, Zee, SuperSport, and Times Internet. Of these, Amazon, Google, and YouTube were the last to exit.
It was just Rs 54 crore in the previous IPL series. With this, the total price of 410 matches including the two packages has gone up to Rs 44,75 crore, for the first time the IPL series has been licensed by another company on tv and another company digitally. Thus, the IPL series is currently ranked 2nd in the world after the NFL series, overtaking the english Premier League-like football series.
According to the first information, the IPL matches were bought by sony on tv and Viacom reliance on digital. But it has been reported that it was bought by Star Company.

However, the bcci has not yet issued an official statement in this regard. Similarly, there is stiff competition in purchasing the first day and play-off round matches for Package C. Similarly, IPL matches will no longer be on the Disney Hot Star from next year. Instead, IPL matches can be streamed on the Voot app and jio TV. Disney Hotstar is used by 4.3 crore people in India. It is noteworthy that if the IPL series is not currently telecast, its audience will be declining.
