Wrestling: Antim Panghal created history!!!On friday night, where the whole country was celebrating the festival of Janmashtami with great pomp, on the other hand, a daughter of india was rioting on the mat. Last Panghal created history in the 53 kg weight category. She won a gold medal at the ongoing Under-20 World Championships in bulgaria and became the first indian female wrestler to do so. The indian star won a bronze medal at the Global Cadet Championships last year. She defeated her opponent Altin Shagayeva 8–0 in the final.
Last not only won the gold medal, but she also dominated the women's 53kg field running in Sofia, Bulgaria. She defeated european champion, Olivia Andrich, by technical superiority and then pinned Ayaka Kimura of japan within a minute. Natalie Klivchutska of ukraine was one such wrestler who managed to stay in front of the final for a full 6 minutes. But their journey came to an end after the 11-2 defeat. In the final, the indian star defeated Altin Shagayeva of kazakhstan 8-0 to create history.
Apart from this, Sonam Malik of india managed to win silver in 62 kg and priyanka in 65 kg. Both lost their final match. In the men's section, india won 6 bronze and one silver medal, while in the women's section, india won three silver and one bronze medal, including one gold. india finished third in the medal tally.
