BCCI has boycotted the day and night Test matches..!?
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has said that no day-night Test matches are scheduled for the indian men's and women's teams in the next two years. The ICC is experimenting with different types of tournaments to develop cricket at the international level. To bring Test cricket to the younger generation and to add some entertainment, it was introduced that day-night Test matches would be held.
So far, the indian men's team has played 4 day-night Test matches. A pink ball is used in these types of day-night Tests. As the pink ball is best used at night, it is called the pink ball test by the ICC. It was in that pink Ball Test that the indian team was bowled out for 36 runs. indian team has 3 wins and 1 loss in 4 matches so far. In this situation, the bcci has not come forward to conduct even one day-night Test matches for the indian team in the Test cricket season for the next 2 years. Speaking about this, bcci Secretary Jay Shah said that the test matches can be played over 4 or 5 days, if it is held as a pink ball test match, the result will be reached in just 3 days.
Likewise, there is a need to increase the interest of the fans for the pink Ball Test match. All the fans in india are eager to watch the Test matches which last for 4 or 5 days. Last time a day-night Test match was held with Australia. After this, we are talking with the england team. But he said that it will be implemented gradually and not immediately. Day-night Test matches have not been well-received by spectators since their inception. The opinion of the fans is that there is no need to bring any change in Test cricket. Due to this, bcci has boycotted the day and night Test matches and it has been well received by the fans.
