In a dramatic indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 match, NorthEast United FC secured a 1-0 victory over Mohammedan SC, thanks to a stoppage-time goal by Alaeddine Ajaraie. The game, held at the kishore Bharati Krirangan Stadium in Kolkata, seemed destined for a goalless draw until Ajaraie found the net in the 94th minute, breaking the deadlock.

Mohammedan SC, making their ISL debut after a successful I-League campaign, controlled much of the possession, boasting 60% of the ball. However, NorthEast United's attacking intensity resulted in more shots on goal, with both teams missing key opportunities throughout the game. Despite Mohammedan's dominance, they struggled to convert chances, with near misses from Alexis Gomez and Adinga.

As the clock ticked past 90 minutes, Ajaraie capitalized on NorthEast's final push to clinch the win, leaving the home crowd in silence. NorthEast United FC, under the guidance of coach Juan Pedro Benali, continued their strong start to the season, following their recent Durand Cup victory.

Looking ahead, if NorthEast maintains this level of performance, they seem poised for a competitive season, while Mohammedan will need to sharpen their finishing to convert possession into points in future matches.
