High chance of Shreyas Iyer being dropped from the KKR team..!?
shreyas iyer is reportedly on the list of players to be retained by KKR ahead of the IPL mega auction. However, it is said that the team management has come forward to pay shreyas iyer only Rs 11 crore salary. With the IPL mega auction set to take place next month, all 10 teams are busy preparing their retention lists. With the need to pay Rs 75 crore to retain 5 international players, there has been confusion in deciding how many players can be retained in each team. But last season's IPL champions KKR have no confusion. Negotiations are being conducted to retain 6 players for sure on the team's side.
Accordingly, it has been decided to retain sunil Narine, Russell, Rinku Singh, shreyas iyer, Harshit Rana, and varun Chakraborty in the retention list of the KKR team. sunil Narine, Russell, varun Chakraborty, and venkatesh Iyer were also retained during the last mega auction. It is certain that except for venkatesh Iyer, the other 3 players will be retained again. But there is confusion about who can be paid what. It is said that the KKR team management has decided to retain Russell for Rs 18 crore as the first retention of the KKR team. After that, it has been discussed that varun Chakraborty can be retained for Rs.14 crore as the 2nd retention, Captain shreyas iyer for Rs.11 crore as the 3rd retention, sunil Narine for Rs.18 crore and Rinku Singh for Rs.14 crore. Harshit Rana or Ramandeep Singh are expected to be retained as uncapped players for Rs 4 crore. But the question has arisen whether KKR captain shreyas iyer will agree to be retained for Rs 11 crore. Because shreyas iyer has won the trophy for KKR after almost 10 years. It is said that he expects due respect and wants his name to be the first retention. However, it has been reported that the KKR team management is considering taking a decision to remove shreyas iyer from the captaincy.
