RCB fans bashing as Hazlewood bought for a higher price..!?
The incident done by the RCB team management on the first day of the IPL mega auction has caused uproar among the team's fans. They are complaining about why they bought Hazlewood for Rs 12.50 crore instead of paying a large amount for players including Mitchell Starc, Rabada, and Boult. On the first day of the IPL mega auction, the RCB team bought players including Liam Livingston, Phil Salt, Jitesh Sharma, Hazlewood, Rasheed Dhar, and Suyash Sharma. Out of these, the RCB team management bought Australia's fast bowler josh Hazlewood for Rs 12.50 crore. RCB bought Hazlewood after fighting a huge battle with 3 teams including Lucknow, KKR, and Mumbai. Although Hazlewood has already played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, he has not been able to throw a spell that would completely shake the opposing batsmen.
Hazlewood has always focused on controlling runs by applying pressure. He has never been a bowler who can take wickets off opposing batsmen in the first spell. RCB needed a star bowler who could take wickets in the power play at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. But the RCB team management has paid Rs. 12.50 crore for a bowler who can control the run rate and put pressure. Apart from that, Trent Boult's name was brought to the mega auction only after buying Hazlewood. The mumbai team also increased the amount of Archer, Hazlewood, and others to buy Boult for a lower amount. Unknowingly, RCB bought Hazlewood and fell into the trap of the mumbai team. If Boult had been bought instead of Hazlewood, RCB's bowling line-up would have been different. Similarly, mohammed shami was initially sold for Rs 10 crore, Rabada for Rs 10.75 crore, Mitchell Starc for Rs 11.75 crore, and Noor ahmed for Rs 10 crore. All of them were wicket-takers. The reason for RCB's fans' lament is that they paid a higher price for Hazlewood instead of him.
