World chess champion Gukesh receives a rousing welcome..!!
World chess champion Gukesh was given a rousing welcome at the airport on his return to Chennai. Gukesh from tamil Nadu created a record by defeating the reigning champion Ding Liren of china in the World Chess championship held in Singapore. With this, he has become the second indian to win the world championship title after Viswanathan Anand. Gukesh, who returned to chennai for the first time today (Dec., 16) after winning the world championship title, was given a warm welcome by the tamil Nadu government. sports Secretary Atulya Mishra welcomed him with a bouquet at the airport.
Gukesh, a student of Velammal School, becomes the world chess champion. A felicitation ceremony for world chess champion Gukesh is to be held tomorrow (Dec., 17) at Kalaivanar Angam in Chennai. The tamil Nadu government has announced a prize money of Rs. 5 crore for Gukesh.
