Premier League: Following a late drama, West Ham and Bournemouth share points in a 1-1 draw.
In Monday's Premier League 1-1 home draw against West Ham, Bournemouth salvaged a point thanks to a spectacular free kick from Enes Ünal in the final minute of regular time.
Goalies made important stops at both ends as both teams struggled to break down their opponent.
However, West Ham took the lead with a VAR-assisted penalty in the 87th minute, just as it appeared that a 0-0 draw was imminent.
Following a video review, referee chris Kavanagh determined that Lucas Paqueta made a perfect 12-meter shot and that the ball had impacted Tyler Adams' hand. That would have been difficult for Bournemouth, who had the better of the second half but data-faced West Ham goalkeeper Łukasz Fabianski, the game's star.
However, Ünal gave the Cherries a well-earned share of the points in the 90th minute by curling a free kick into the top corner.
Ryan Christie, a forward for Bournemouth, told broadcaster Sky, "Credit to him, big moment, especially the reaction as well, I thought the boys were brilliant." "And it was a moment of magic to get us level."
The penalty judgement would be up for debate, and Christie bemoaned what he described as officials' poor decision-making.Christie remarked, "I thought it was harsh," "Even though his hand is high, he's really near the ball. We didn't receive one from a comparable situation against Ipswich last week.We dominated, so it's a little annoying. However, receiving a point at the end is a wonderful thing.
Another illustration of Bournemouth's late tenacity was the comeback. With nine points from losing positions so far this season, the south coast team has outperformed everyone but Manchester City and Aston Villa.
West Ham was in 14th place, while Bournemouth moved up to sixth place, only two points behind Manchester City.
