Here's who the grey guy of Ruby's visions is in Season 6 of Peaky Blinders, and why Tommy Shelby, played by Cillian Murphy, should be terrified of what his daughter sees. The second episode of Peaky Blinders closes with a bang, with Ruby in severe danger and her parents concerned over her health, only one episode after the Tika More O Beng riddle was answered. Ruby's situation is deteriorating, and her visions of a grey guy are terrible news for Tommy: "It's the old man in the grey suit. He claims to be on his way to get me. He's also on his way to get Daddy."
Despite the fact that Peaky Blinders is based on true events, Steven Knight's programme has progressively embraced fantastical realism in an uncynical way. Tommy Shelby's visions of a black cat alerting him of someone close to him abandoning him took up the entire fifth season, while Polly Grey's influence on her nephew was supported in part by her second sight and talent of foresight. Peaky Blinders appears to be replacing Polly with Ruby, which is particularly concerning given the cost to Ruby herself. While Tommy closed the first episode of Peaky Blinders season 6 by begging with Polly and telling her that he was attempting to "get out," there may be more nasty twists in his storey to come.
