Kiernan Shipka will reprise his role as Sabrina Spellman in Riverdale Season 6. Between 2018 to 2020, the Mad Men actress played Sabrina in the Netflix series The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which lasted two seasons and four parts. The series ended on New Year's Eve in 2020, with an
episode that seemed to imply that the character—a darker version of the Archie Comics character popularised on the Melissa Joan Hart sitcom Sabrina the Teenage Witch—had sacrificed herself and would spend eternity with her
love Nick Scratch in the Sweet Hereafter.
However, anything can happen in a magical world filled with mysticism and magic. Given that The CW's Riverdale, from which Chilling Adventures of Sabrina was a loose offshoot, has become increasingly supernatural in its own right—with some of the key characters obtaining their own superpowers—that rule also applies to Archie and his friends' surroundings. Sabrina made a surprising return on Riverdale season 6
episode 4, "The Witching Hour(s)," on
december 7, 2021, giving the midseason finale a boost before the series went on hiatus until
march 20, 2022.
Sabrina Spellman is expected to return for another
episode of Riverdale season 6 according to TVLine. This was verified during yesterday's Riverdale discussion at Paleyfest in Hollywood. The
news that this season's musical
episode will use songs from American Psycho: The Musical, which was co-written by Duncan Sheik and Riverdale
writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, was also revealed at that event.
