The popular science fiction horror television series made its Netflix premiere in July 2016 to universally positive reviews and has since grown to become the platform's most-watched English-language programme. The programme has won a tonne of accolades, including seven Primetime Emmys, and in february of this year, Netflix announced that it had renewed the series for a fifth and final season.

The troubled Eleven, played by Spanish-born british actress Brown, must utilise her psychokinetic and telekinetic powers to defend her friends and the town of Hawkins from the impending dangers posed by the Upside Down, a parallel dimension. Eleven, who has spent years as a test subject in a government laboratory, must struggle to adjust to normal life while learning to control her growing powers during the course of the series. Jamie Campbell Bower, a british actor, won praise for his portrayal as Vecna, a new enemy on the programme that debuted in season 4.

Bower sat down with Variety to talk about the programme, his role, and how the other cast members reacted to his character in advance of the release of the season 4 finale. The London-born actor spoke about his transformation, which required seven and a half hours per day to complete, as well as how Brown was horrified and disgusted by his post-transformation physical look, according to IndieWire.
