House of the Dragon Ep 4 Review: Matt Smith and Milly Alcock shine

G GOWTHAM
Given the lasting impression Game of Thrones had on its viewers, it still feels a little unbelievable how far house of the Dragon has come. It almost seemed impossible to do something like again. We are fortunate that the prequel has been a boon thus far because it not only transports us back to Westeros but also—dare I say—makes it in many ways better. The third episode of the series was the deadliest one thus far, with Daemon Targaryen (Matt Smith) triumphantly overcoming the Crabfeeder at the Stepstones after a protracted conflict. It is anticipated that Targaryen's triumph will earn him respect and make him seem like a respectable heir apparent, but after watching the fourth episode, it is clear that Daemon won't think twice about adopting alternative methods to obtain the same authority.
Daemon's (Smith) return to King's Landing and the perilous intentions he is about to carry out are the main topics of the fourth episode of the show, king of the Narrow Sea. Princess Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock) is currently data-faced with the difficult challenge of finding a suitor who is neither older than her father nor a lad who has not yet reached puberty. The Princess is in a tighter spot as king Viscerys' (Paddy Considine) council continues to push the idea of her marriage to Laenor Velaryon in her yet another futile attempt to find a match that will improve her family's prestige and her seat on the iron Throne (John Macmillan).
Without giving anything away, the fourth episode of the show embraces peak Game of Thrones-level drama this time around as scandalous situations occur and they are all the result of the dishonest intentions of those involved. This episode has a lot more scary content to give, therefore it doesn't need deaths and blood to add some shock value for its viewers. The episode's climax is also very powerful, and this is possibly when the real game starts. Rhaenyra (Alcock), Daemon (Smith), and king Viscerys (Considine) are the main characters in this episode, and all three Targaryens promise to surprise you in unexpected ways.
