Microsoft is shutting down Internet Explorer, the most popular web browser, on june 15. But the question arises that the web browser which was once the most popular, now how and why did it come to such a situation that its manufacturer had to take the decision to close it.

In comparison to Internet Explorer, on the one hand, there was the already existing Netscape Navigator, as well as new web browsers were also launched. Browsers like Opera and Safari started becoming famous in these, but apart from these, many other launched web browsers could not succeed. Just as new versions of Internet Explorer were being launched, so did Netscape Navigator, Opera and Safari.

Safari was made by apple itself, so it was not of use to Windows users. With this, Internet Explorer competed directly with Netscape Navigator and Opera. Internet Explorer has always been ahead in this competition. By 2003, 95 percent of people used Internet Explorer.

When Internet Explorer got its first blow

When a new web browser called Mozilla Firefox was launched in 2004, it gave the first blow to Internet Explorer. Firefox was somewhat faster and different from Internet Explorer. Firefox managed to captivate people with its new interdata-face and many people started using it instead of Internet Explorer. By 2007, Netscape Navigator had completely died out in the web browser market. Opera was running but the race match was between Internet Explorer and Firefox. Although Internet Explorer was still alive.

Why Internet Explorer has remained popular

Firefox, despite being better than Internet Explorer, has always lagged behind Internet Explorer. The biggest reason for this was microsoft, the maker of Internet Explorer. Everyone on the Internet wants their privacy and security. Whatever the user sends via email or uploads and downloads on the Internet, he does not want it to be known to everyone. Along with this, he is always afraid of hackers, online banking frauds and all kinds of online frauds. With its Windows, microsoft became a trusted brand around the world, and this belief was shown by people in its Internet Explorer. For this reason, no other web browser could reach even far ahead of Internet Explorer.

How the downfall of Internet Explorer began

Now there was a need for a web browser that is better than Internet Explorer and a big and reliable company has made it, which the whole world can trust. In 2008, google filled this gap by launching google Chrome. Chrome was much faster and more secure than Internet Explorer, as well as its completely new interdata-face, people liked it very much. In 2008, google was becoming popular all over the world. google promoted Chrome through its home page, which read Download Chrome, do a fast google search. Just as Internet Explorer reached every computer through Windows, in the same way google Chrome started reaching the computer from the page of google Search. people all over the world including india gradually joined Chrome. Now people had got the option of Internet Explorer, so people started using google Chrome instead of Internet Explorer. Along with this, Mozilla Firefox was also getting users of Internet Explorer.

The 11th and last version of Internet Explorer was launched in 2013, which is still running. Despite all the efforts of microsoft, users were moving from Internet Explorer to Chrome. Then in 2015 microsoft released a new web browser called microsoft Edge with its Windows 10. microsoft tried to replicate the Internet Explorer-like success by providing Edge with Windows 10, but it didn't. There were some flaws in microsoft Edge, which have now been removed to make Edge a better and better browser.

Today, according to a report till May 2022, google Chrome alone has 70.67 percent share in the web browser (computer) market. It is followed by microsoft Edge at 14.77 percent, Firefox with 4.86 percent, Internet Explorer 1.53 percent, Safari with 2.63 percent and Opera with 1.40 percent. The remaining percentage is with other browsers.

So in the same mobile browser, Chrome has 66.25 percent share, Safari has 17.64 percent, samsung Internet has 6.92 percent. The rest is with other browsers. Internet Explorer was never available for mobile.

Clearly, google Chrome has snatched its hegemony from Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer, which once had 95 percent of the world's share, is now less than 2 percent. And now this part of it will also end completely. Seeing all this, microsoft has decided to close it. The company had also announced this last year itself, so that all companies upgrade their software. At the same time, microsoft will now focus its attention on making Edge even better.

With this, the chapter of Internet Explorer is also ending from the world of web browsers and now Internet Explorer will remain on the pages of history.
