Helipad on expressways, Life is not cheap in India!!
Expressway: Every year there are more than 5 lakh road accidents in india, which is 11% of the total road accidents in the world. To reduce this, the government is going to bring many such facilities including helipads along the expressway, so that the deaths due to road accidents can be reduced.
Every year around 5 lakh road accidents happen in India
Union minister for Road Transport and Highways V.K. Singh said that there are about 5 lakh road accidents in india every year, which is 11% of the total accidents in the world. He informed that the government is working to reduce the number of road accidents presently. The government is trying to bring down the 5 lakh accidents that occur annually to at least 2 lakh. Along with this, he said that road accidents are due to someone's fault, which is being reduced by bringing awareness about road safety. He said that we all need the government, corporates and NGOs to come together to raise awareness.
VK Singh said that the government has taken several steps to reduce road accidents, including adopting international standards for airbags used in cars. “We recently issued a notification that just two airbags will not be enough and there should be six. auto companies need to follow the same standards that the rest of the world follows. Life is not cheap in India.
