Hereon Internet service on the plane..!? Tata's new alliance..!
As technology is improving worldwide, many companies worldwide have been trying to provide Internet service to customers through Wi-Fi in airplanes for the past few years. This includes Elon Musk's Starlink service. In this situation, the air service and the number of air passengers are growing rapidly in India.
Tata Nelco is partnering with a foreign company for this revolutionary project. US and Luxembourg-based Intelsat has signed an agreement with Tata Nelco to provide internet services to all aircraft flying in indian skies. Tata Nelco is a leading provider of VSAT connectivity, Satcom projects, and integrated security and surveillance services.
Tata Nelco is also providing such enterprise services to government and private companies. The agreement will pave the way for broadband coverage on domestic and international flights, flights to or from indian airports, and flights over the indian data-border. The agreement will also benefit Intelsat's airline partners and airline passengers.
Intelsat is joined by IndJects, reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and vodafone Idea. And it is noteworthy that all these companies have received permission from the government of india to provide internet services in airplanes.
Through this agreement, a huge business opportunity has been created for both Intelsat and Tata Nelco. Tata Nelco dominates among the few companies operating in this segment in India.
