Be careful of calls to block or update your SIM card!!!

Cyber thugs have been cheating people for the past few days by calling or sending messages on behalf of TRAI, threatening to block their SIM card or by giving the false promise of upgrading from 4G to 5G. Hundreds of cases of such fraud have been registered on the cyber fraud portal in the last few days.

Cyber thugs call and scare consumers that their SIM card is going to be blocked within two hours. On the other hand, they also give false promises of updating the SIM card from 4G to 5g online. Such messages or calls are being sent to people in the name of TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) and they are cheating them.

Do not follow the instructions of the fraudsters

Be careful when you get such calls and do not follow any instructions of the fraudsters, because such calls are not made by TRAI but by fraudsters. TRAI has made it clear that they do not make any kind of call to mobile holders. If you get such a call, you can lodge a complaint in the nearest police station or cyber cell.
