OpenAI no longer wants to be limited to just chatbots. The company is soon preparing to launch an AI-based web browser that will directly challenge google Chrome and Perplexity's Comet browser. In today's era, most people spend most of their time on web browsers, be it work, entertainment or internet surfing and this is the reason why AI companies are now eyeing this platform.
Preparation of AI browser in final stage
This browser of OpenAI can be launched in the coming few weeks. According to reports, this browser will be fully AI-integrated and will help make tools like ChatGPT more powerful. So far OpenAI has shown dependence on search engines like google and other platforms for data, but by launching its own browser, the company itself is moving towards improving AI with user data.
Chrome will get a direct competition
Google Chrome is currently the most used browser in the world, but OpenAI's new tool will directly challenge it. There are also reports that OpenAI will include an AI agent named "Operator" in its browser which can make web browsing more smart and intelligent.
The purpose of AI agents is to make the work of users easier - they will manage complex tasks themselves while the user will be able to take only the necessary decisions. Such AI features can bring a big change in the operation of browsers and tabs.
Microsoft Edge also joins the race
On the other hand, microsoft is continuously upgrading its Edge browser. The company claims that after the arrival of WebUI 2.0 interdata-face, the page loading speed has improved by an average of 40%. Now features like "Read Aloud", "Split Screen" and "Workspaces" work faster. Edge's Settings page also loads much faster than before.
