Emmanuel Macron india Visit: Bilateral Talks with narendra modi and Innovation Focus

French President Emmanuel Macron is on an official visit to india from february 17 to 19 at the invitation of prime minister Narendra Modi.

This marks Macron’s fourth visit to india and his first official visit to Mumbai, highlighting the growing importance of the India-France strategic partnership.

Macron will begin his tour in Mumbai, where he will hold bilateral talks with prime minister Modi at Lok Bhavan around 3:15 pm on february 17.

During the talks, both leaders will review progress in the India-France strategic partnership and explore ways to expand cooperation into emerging sectors.

Key focus areas of discussion include defense collaboration, space cooperation, civil nuclear energy, climate action, education, and people-to-people exchanges.

The leaders will also exchange views on important regional and global issues, reinforcing coordination on international platforms.

At approximately 5:15 pm, the two leaders will jointly inaugurate the India-France Year of Innovation 2026.

The initiative aims to deepen collaboration in innovation, technology, startups, research, and artificial intelligence.

Macron and Modi will address business leaders, entrepreneurs, researchers, and innovators from both countries during the launch event.

Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be exchanged in Mumbai, followed by a joint press statement.

An India-France Innovation Forum will be organized at the iconic taj mahal Palace.

The leaders will also participate in the India-France Year of Innovation and Cultural Commemoration event at the historic Gateway of India.

President Macron, accompanied by First Lady Brigitte Macron, will also travel to New delhi during the visit.

He is scheduled to participate in the AI Impact Summit, underscoring the growing cooperation between india and france in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

Prime minister Modi is also set to inaugurate the Global AI Impact Expo, positioning india as a key global hub for AI discussions.

The Innovation 2026 celebrations will continue throughout the year in both nations, symbolizing sustained momentum in bilateral ties.

Macron’s visit reflects the strengthening of India-France relations and a shared commitment to strategic, technological, and global cooperation.
