Musk has described the US Securities and Exchange Commission's long-running investigation as a violation of his right to free expression.



Can anyone bother Elon Musk, the world's second-richest man and CEO of the American firm Tesla? Yes, according to Musk, it is happening. He accused the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of harassment in the name of endless and untrustworthy investigations.



Musk has described the SEC's long-running investigation as a stifling of his freedom of expression. The allegation was made in a letter to the Manhattan district Judge by alex Spiro, a lawyer for Musk and Tesla.


Spiro led Musk's company in a 2018 agreement with the SEC regarding a tesla transaction. Elon Musk's tweet sparked the initial controversy. tesla made a significant purchase, according to the tweet.

Spiro claimed in the letter that US agencies are deliberately targeting Musk because he is outspoken and critical of the government, even as the investigation continues. The lawyer also stated that SES is attempting to silence Musk's voice.


The letter comes just weeks after tesla revealed that the SEC issued it an order in november 2021. The order was issued to put the 2018 agreement into effect.


In fact, Musk tweeted in 2018 that he could buy back tesla shares for $420 per share and that the funds were set aside for this purpose, but the reality was quite the opposite. The purchase was not going to happen right away. According to the SEC, Musk was aware that this large transaction was uncertain and fraught with danger.
