Bear Grylls of Man Vs Wild celebrates his birthday on 7th June. He is a popular data-face of TV. His popularity can be gauged from the fact that in his show, from US President barack obama to PM Modi, Akshay Kumar, Vicky Kaushal, all the big celebrities have become guests of his show. 

The history of Bayer, who took an adventure-filled show to this stage, has been associated with the cricket field. His grandfather Neville ford and great-grandfather William Augustus ford have both been prolific cricketers. Baer's father, Sir Michael Grylls, was a Conservative party politician.

Bayer's older sister Lara Fassett is a tennis coach. His sister had given him the nickname Bear. Bayer is very intelligent, he is well versed in many Amerindian languages apart from English, Spanish, French. Bayer has been fond of adventure since childhood. He learned skydiving in his childhood and got a black belt in karate. 

Bayer completed his studies at Brikbeck university of london including E-Tone College. Bayer has also served in the british Army. In 2004, he was awarded the rank of Lieutenant commander in the Royal Navy Reserves.


Bayer fulfilled his dream of climbing Everest in 1998 at the age of 23. After 18 months, his spinal cord was fractured in an accident during paragliding. It is said that his condition had become such that it was not possible to be normal again, but Bear Grylls never gave up and see today he is on different heights of success. Bear Grylls wrote Facing Up (UK)/The Kid Who Climbed Everest (US). Then came his books Facing the frozen Ocean, Born Survivor: Bear Grylls Outdoor Adventures.
