Every person wants all kinds of amenities in his house. Where can financially strong people live without things like AC, fridge, TV. And when all this happens in the house, then the electricity bill will also come to the same level. But can you imagine that a financially sound person lives in a house where he does not have to pay electricity bill nor does he need AC in summer?

India returned from England 

If you cannot think, then think now because Vini Khanna and her husband balaji of Bangalore are living like this. The reason for this is their eco-house, which means that their house is not made of brick cement like ordinary houses, but of mud and old wood. Vinny and her husband balaji had been living in england for 28 years. The couple returned to india in 2018. Then they decided to build an eco-friendly home. 

Open eyes at the time of first child birth

They came to mind about this when Vinny gave birth to their first child in 2009. With the arrival of the baby, the number of nappy, plastic bottles, baby feed bottles etc. started increasing in the house. Seeing this West, Vinny thought that in this way he is not doing well with nature. So, he thought of some way by which these waste things could be reused. 

In 2010, when she had a lovely daughter, she made up her mind to return to her country. In 2020, he started looking for a house in Bangalore but was surprised to hear the prices of the apartments. vani says, "Then she came to know about Mahija, a Bengaluru-based firm that has been building permanent homes for over a decade. Vinny also reached out to them to build her own house."

Build your house like this 

The bricks used for Vinny and Balaji's house are made of six elements. They were made by mixing 7 percent cement, clay, red clay, steel blast, limestone and water. While the walls were made of these, the roof was made using clay blocks. In this way, cement was not used at all in his house. 

In building the house, instead of using steel rods and concrete to make a slab, he used scrap keyboards, coconut shells, etc. Simultaneously, that area was filled with soil to make slabs. He also has a 1000 feet garden in this house, where he grows curry leaves, coriander, fenugreek etc. and uses them in his food. 

The wood used for decoration and other purposes came from a person who buys old wood while visiting demolished sites. In this way, the wood which is going to be wasted is rearranged and used again. After this, the wood left after making household items, he converted it into a bookshelf.

free electricity free water 

Solar energy is used for electronics items in the house. vani says that the excess power generated through the on-grid system is sent back to the grid at Rs 3 per unit. Thanks to 11 solar panels of 4.8 kW each, the couple does not have to pay the electricity bill.

Even for water, they do not have to depend on the municipal corporation. Community borewells located 200 meters away from their homes get filled with water during the rainy season and provide them with ample supply. Three wells here, two of which are 5 feet and the other 8 feet, supply water to 30 houses here.
