The 80s, 90s, and 2000 had music and songs of him which never diminishes. His Harmony would never be forgotten even now by this generation. He would never stop creating music. He has a unique way of creating music and delivering it to the people. This village man came to chennai with his real name as Gnanadesikan who rise to fame with his devoted music.
                    He has given us more than 7000 songs to world music and got many prestigious awards like Padma Vibhushan and Padma Bhushan.

The story spreading is the love story of Isaignani who is the king of love songs. His love story ended in a tragedy sadly. His sad love story has come into notice on social media. In 1970, he fell in love with a girl named Veena gayathri who was from his department only. He had made much magic of music to impress his love. But, sadly nothing worked. Veena gayathri was appointed as Vice-Chancellor of tamilnadu Music. gayathri then married her relative and moved with him abroad. This sad love anthem of Isaignani is currently spreading on the internet.

          Ilayaraja was then married to jeeva who died in 2011. He is having a beautiful family with two sons and one daughter.
