Mail Delivery via Drones..! First time in Gujarat..!
In this age of technology, letter writing has become very rare, and the practice of sending even a few letters by courier has become more common, forcing the post office to take various new measures to sustain itself as indian postal revenue has plummeted. In this situation, the plan to deliver letters quickly by drone at the Kachchh post office in the gujarat district has succeeded as a pilot attempt. This information has caused great surprise.
Officials said the post office had sent a parcel for the first time by drone in 25 minutes over a distance of 46 km in the Kachchh district of Gujarat. The press Information Bureau (PIB) has confirmed in a press release that the mail was sent by drone to the village of Ner in the Kachchh district under the guidance of the Union Ministry of Communications.
The press release said that this was a start and that the success of this pioneering project of the postal department would enable the delivery of postal parcels across the country by drone in the future.
The Union minister of State for Communications, Devusinh Chauhan, said on twitter that for the first time in indian history, the postal SERVICE' target='_blank' title='indian postal service-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW">indian postal service has delivered a parcel by drone to a specific location. He proudly shared that the goal was to reach the 46-kilometer target in 25 minutes and that it was a medical parcel and that the drone carried exactly that target.
The post office said that the parcel delivery by drone would reduce the cost and shorten the distance between the two centers so that the delivery time would be less and there would be no problem including a shortage of staff.
Following the success of this commercial pilot initiative, postal parcel delivery services in all states are planned to be expedited by drone, the Post office said. The state postal department has achieved this feat as private companies have not even tried to send parcels by drone.
Economists say that in the future there will be drone applications not only in the postal sector but also in various other sectors including agriculture, which is an amazing technology and the country's growth will be faster if this technology is used more.
