According to a search for Dr. lokesh, he filed a complaint against two hospitals, his former colleague Dr. Gopinath Jadhav, and Medicare and Medicaid fraud for performing unneeded biopsies in 2006. The virginia Times, a journal owned and run by Dr. lokesh himself, was cited as the source of the allegations, and the court dropped the case as a result.
Due to his "clearly frivolous" lawsuit, the court also mandated that Dr. lokesh pay US $68,000 to the defendants in attorneys' fees. In a separate complaint, he accused Dr. Jadhav of retaliation, racketeering, business conspiracy, and exploitation of the legal system. His medical licence was requested to be revoked by the virginia Board of Medicine and others, and the court upheld their request. Additionally, the court barred Vuyyuru from "filing any other lawsuits against the board's judgement.
