While zomato and swiggy already dominate the indian food market, these two companies are now entering the direct commerce of restaurants. As a result, restaurants have become dependent on only two companies, zomato and swiggy, which restaurant owners are protesting against. There is a warning. The NRAI also termed the zomato Pay and swiggy Diner schemes as bizarre.
Zomato Pay is when one pays for a hotel or meal using the payment service available on the zomato app. swiggy offers a similar service called swiggy Diner. people are inevitably using it because of the huge discount one gets when paying through both zomato Pay and swiggy Diner. This has a huge impact on restaurants.
When one pays through both zomato Pay and swiggy Diner, one gets a discount ranging from 15-40 percent, this discount amount has to be accepted by the restaurants themselves, but the restaurants get a commission of 4-12 percent by accepting this payment method. But the NRAI organization has questioned why it should be used when other wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital payment services are available at lower rates.
NRAI questioned why to accept a 40 percent discount and earn a 12 percent commission when other wallet PLATFORM' target='_blank' title='digital-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>digital payment services charge only 1 to 1.5 percent.
