Hyderabad Man Joins Zepto as Part-time Delivery Partner,
Inspired by a Bengaluru woman who spent a day working as a delivery partner for Blinkit, a man from hyderabad decided to try his hand at working part-time with Zepto. He shared his insights and experiences through a series of posts on X, shedding light on various operational issues he encountered.
“I delivered for Zepto yesterday in hyderabad to understand the operations and it was quite an eye-opener. I spoke with riders, customers, and store managers, and there are several areas for improvement,” Dinesh wrote.
According to the information he shared, full-time delivery partners can earn up to Rs 40,000 a month by working 9 hours a day. Part-time delivery, involving 4-5 hours of work daily, can bring in up to Rs 25,000, while working 9 hours on Sundays alone can yield up to Rs 12,000.
Dinesh pointed out several flaws in the document verification process, noting that images often become blurry and misdata-aligned. He recommended automating this process to enhance efficiency. He also mentioned a lack of clear instructions on what to do after verification. “I had to go through training with a rider, but 4 out of 5 people I approached for help were unavailable because they were busy. It would be great if managers could assist in such cases,” he noted.
He also criticized the lack of facilities for delivery partners, such as no designated seating areas or functional water dispensers in the stores. “I heard there might be a water dispenser inside, but no one went beyond the order pickup point, so I couldn’t confirm. Also, I wasn’t sure how to get a raincoat and other gear, as the store didn’t have any, and I ended up getting drenched,” he added.
Additionally, he observed technical issues, such as riders using whatsapp groups to update order statuses and bag logs, which he believes store managers are handling manually.
Dinesh concluded his post with an estimation based on conversations with experienced partners: “Working hours: 8. Delivered orders per hour: 3 (my average as a first-timer). Total orders per day: 24. Total orders per week: 168. Estimated monthly earnings (based on 168 orders per week): Rs 32,941.”
