Adulterated Desi Ghee Operation Uncovered at Printing Press;
On thursday, the Food Safety Department uncovered a food adulteration operation in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, where adulterated desi ghee was being produced inside a printing press.
The operation was exposed during a raid by the Food Safety Department, which resulted in the seizure of over 400 liters of vegetable oil and various packaging materials. The adulterated desi ghee was intended for distribution across Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana.
The raid took place in the Reico Industrial Area late thursday night, following a tip-off. However, the suspects had already escaped by the time the team arrived. The authorities confiscated more than 400 liters of vegetable oil and assorted materials used in the production of the adulterated ghee, along with packaging materials from various brands.
Initial investigations suggest that the operation was being conducted under the cover of a rented printing press. The Food Safety Department is now conducting a comprehensive investigation into the case. This raid is part of a broader campaign by the department against food adulteration in Rajasthan.
Recently, similar actions have been taken, including the seizure of large quantities of adulterated sweets in jaipur and previous raids on hotels and restaurants targeting food safety violations.
